Common questions

China Market Entry FAQ

Answers for overseas brands, manufacturers and buyers who want a clear starting point for China market entry, validation, compliance questions, e-commerce development or supply chain execution.

Questions before you invest in China

The answers below are intentionally conservative. They explain what Qinggate can coordinate, what needs outside specialist review and where a clear project scope is required.

How long does it take to enter the China market?

A typical China market entry takes 3-6 months from initial assessment to first market test. The timeline depends on product category, compliance complexity, required documentation and your budget. The first step is usually a market assessment (1-2 weeks), followed by validation planning and execution. We provide a realistic timeline estimate during the assessment phase.

What qualifications do I need to work with Qinggate?

You need to be a legitimate business entity with a product suitable for China market entry. We work with overseas brands, manufacturers and trading companies. You should have basic product documentation (specifications, pricing, certifications) and be ready to share business information for the assessment. No special certifications or Chinese partnerships are required to start.

How much does the market assessment cost?

The China Market Assessment has a defined service fee which covers our structured review of your product, pricing, compliance and channel fit. The fee is separate from any third-party costs (certifications, testing, import duties, platform fees). We provide a transparent quote before work begins. Contact us for the current pricing schedule.

Can you guarantee success in the China market?

No. Qinggate does not guarantee sales, platform approval, distributor acceptance or specific market outcomes. What we guarantee is an evidence-based, structured approach: we provide honest assessment, real market feedback and clear recommendations backed by data. The goal is to help you make better-informed decisions with lower risk.

What's your refund policy?

Our refund policy is defined in the written service scope provided before any work begins. For assessment and consultation services, refunds are handled based on work completed. For validation projects, unused budget funds can be returned per the agreed terms. Third-party costs (testing, platform fees, logistics) are non-refundable once incurred.

Do you work with foreign brands?

Yes. Qinggate specializes in working with overseas brands entering China. We have experience with food & beverage, consumer products, beauty & wellness and other categories. Our team works in English and operates from Beijing, giving us local market context while serving international clients.

How do you handle data privacy and confidentiality?

Client confidentiality is non-negotiable. We never publish brand names, store IDs or sensitive business information without explicit written approval. All evidence shared publicly is fully redacted. Project communications are stored securely and only accessible to authorized project team members. We follow Chinese data protection regulations and international best practices.

What's the minimum commitment to start?

The minimum commitment is a China Market Assessment, which provides you with a structured evaluation of your product's China readiness. There is no long-term contract or minimum order requirement. You can choose to pause after the assessment if the evidence doesn't support moving forward. We believe in staged commitment based on evidence, not pressure to sign large contracts.

How do you communicate during the project?

We communicate primarily through official email (bingkuijing@qinggate.com) for all formal project correspondence. This ensures a clear record of all decisions, approvals and scope changes. Video calls can be arranged as needed for project reviews. We respond to enquiries within 1-2 business days (Mon-Fri 9am-6pm CST).

What happens after the market assessment?

After your China Market Assessment, you receive a written report with: (1) market readiness score, (2) key questions to resolve, (3) recommended next stage (validate / prepare compliance / adjust / pause), and (4) timeline and budget estimates. You then decide whether to proceed with the recommended path, adjust your approach, or pause China plans. There is no obligation to continue.
